Sea Launch Odyssey

SeaBase™
The Ocean Odyssey is a mobile spacecraft launch platform that employs the technology and experience of Moss Maritime to penetrate new frontiers. Moss developed the platform for Sea Launch, a spacecraft launch service that is a partnership with the US, Russia, Ukraine and Norway.
This dynamically positioned, semi-submersible platform allows the rockets to be fired from the optimum position on the Earth’s surface, which increases payload capacity and reduces launch costs compared to land-based systems.
The SeaBase™ stretches the limits of "state of the art" semi-submersible design and represents a quantum leap in offshore structure applications.
Designed for the U.S. Department of Defense, this mobile offshore base is able to accommodate C17 aircraft as well as troops. It can be deployed anywhere in the world to support U.S. presence in conflict areas.
SeaBase will become the world's largest steel structure ever made, with its overall deck dimensions at 5,000 x 450 feet. Three large semi-submersible platforms, or modules, are interconnected by two hydrostatically-balanced "bridges." The structures can also operate under their own propulsion for mobilization and deployment.
Moss mobile offshore bases respond to the global strategic need for forward military presence on a wide range of mission profiles.
