Moss Maritime has collaborated with Saipem and Siemens to create a streamlined and efficient solution for a floating offshore substation, drawing on many years of experience designing semi-submersible for the oil and gas industry. The design follows the principles established by the floating substation JIP by DNV, where we participated.
The semi-submersible FOSS design is developed with the requirements for both onboard sub-stations and the cables in mind. With a state-of-the-art sizing methodology, the hull can be optimized for specific projects with given metocean conditions and topside weights, yielding excellent balance between deck size, hydrodynamic behavior and weight.
